Thursday I had called my doctor because I was concerned over a big, discolored brownish spot on my back. It wasn't pretty at all and I wanted to make sure it was nothing. Luckily it was nothing- something had broken under the skin so I guess it was more like a bruise. Big relief. But hey, I had to be sure.
Gary's birthday was Friday. My Friday afternoon case was canceled because the family was out of town. I still had a Friday night case I planned on going to, but when I arrived at the home and realized nobody was there, the family called to tell me they were very late coming home from vacation and told me to take the night off. So, I did (and yes, I do get paid for the night because I showed up). So it was very neat to have the whole day off to spend with my sweet husband and his birthday. As for a birthday present, I sadly couldn't find anything for him. I did get him a nice card, made him a nice breakfast, took him out to dinner, but no big presents. I know, bad wife. We've never really been gift-giving on birthdays and such- we mostly just do nice things for each other and go out to eat or something (although last year I found him a Sega CD, box and everything after searching for weeks). But anyway, it was nice.
Saturday, we left early and headed up north to spend the next couple of nights camping. We originally planned on leaving Saturday afternoon after a work shift of mine, but instead had to leave earlier than planned. It was nice to leave earlier, but I was really bummed I had to cancel. Although I had given at least 3 days notice I wasn't going to make it, I really hate not being able to make a case- especially if nobody can cover it.
We arrived at our campground that afternoon and set up. The weather was great- not too warm, and a nice, beautiful breeze. Gary said it was the first time we set up camp in the afternoon without breaking a sweat (minus the last time when we attempted the winter weather and almost froze to death).
Our site- which was actually pretty shadier than it appears |
After everything was set up, we headed over to the family lodge where we enjoyed some ice cream and strolled around the area a bit. There were a lot of people there- probably celebrating 4th of July weekend. It was actually pretty nice to see it so alive. We thought about braving the ice pool (the giant family swimming pool), but it was already packed with family and kids. So instead we just relaxed a bit until that evening.
That evening, after dinner, we headed over to the adult lodge where we swam in the heated pool and relaxed in the Jacuzzi. We dealt with a group of people who kept bragging about how they weren't Mexican but from El Salvador, and they were actually a little drunk. Luckily they were guests, so their campsite was far from ours so we couldn't hear their drunk partying. There were rangers on patrol, but they kept trying to hide their beer and eventually left to everyone's relief. We then met a nice LDS family and had a better conversation with them than the drunk Guanacos. After the pool and hot tub, we hit the the inside of the adult lodge where we enjoyed some pool.
Sunday was pretty relaxing itself and we spent a good chunk of the day swimming and playing Magic (being a nerd is awesome), and we left Monday morning (Gary and I had the day as a vacation day). It was definitely a fantastic weekend with my favorite person.

I don't know either |
And that's that! Today I'm going to enjoy the day off since my case today is temporarily suspended. I currently work 30 hours per week, Monday-Friday. I like it. I'm going to keep my weekends open, too.
Okay, bye!

Glad you were able to relax and get away for the weekend after a heckish work day on Monday! I'm sorry to hear it was so bad. :( But your campsite looked beautiful and hanging out at the pool with your husband I'm sure made it all disappear!
That looks pretty and very relaxing! Glad it was just a bruise. Love you
