We're also discovering new hobbies together as well. Gary, being Gary, likes swords. So, we bought practice swords and are going to start training in sword fighting (there are a lot of areas around here that train). So, why the heck not. Sounds fun- and it's a workout. Always good to learn something new (too much Highlander lately??).
No, cat. Not for you. There cannot be only one kitty in the end.
They're cold steel and pretty nice- and obviously for practice. Gary's still on the hunt for a nice real sword though ("real" as in battle-ready). Of course you don't really want to ask the guy at the counter, "Can I kill anyone with that sword? I'll buy it!" Anyway, I don't know a thing about sword fighting, but I guess it's time I learn. I think it would be fun for he and I to have an activity together like this.
Anyway, today was good and productive and I'm happy. I spent all morning in the kitchen making Mexican sushi for Gary's potluck today at work. It's pretty delicious. You use tortillas and wrap up cream cheese, fat-free refried beans, a tad bit of salsa, bell pepper and onion, and chipotle peppers (the cream cheese, chipotles and salsa are blended together). Then I made a sauce with fresh cilantro leaves, lime juice and canola oil to pour over. Here's the recipe: Mexican Sushi. I made half with chicken and the other half without meat for the vegetarians he works with.
Since I kind of munched throughout it, I considered it my breakfast and I took a 5.5 mile walk; and it was gorgeous. I spent probably a good chunk of time just sitting on a rock or bench totally zoning out at the ripples in the water. I'm glad that ice-rainy weather is over. Good to see 70's again.
Okay, that's all!
